Man charged with robbery Published Saturday February 26th, 2011

Codiac RCMP have charged a man with robbing a fast food restaurant on Thursday afternoon.

Christopher McLeod, 41, of Moncton, appeared in Moncton provincial court yesterday in relation to the robbery at the A&W restaurant and Petro-Canada gas station on Mountain Road.

McLeod was charged with robbery and he waived his bail hearing and was remanded into custody. He returns to court March 25 to enter a plea.

Bernie Tousenard, president of the Riverview Crime Prevention Committee, took to the podium at one point to urge greater co-operation between his and other like-minded groups and Codiac RCMP.

Tousenard said ordinary citizens can be a valuable resource to RCMP, and should be included and respected in that regard.

Critchlow agreed and said perhaps more could be done to work with the community.
